Bangkok
Tuesday. Arrived in Bangkok in the morning.
First thing, we visited the Grand Palace. This is a picture of the "Chakri Maha Prasat Hall", which was built as the official residence of King Rama V (today's king is his son Rama VI). According to the brochure, the building is now "used for state banquets".
We haven't figured out the buses yet (there are two kinds: air-con, and open-the-window). So, we've been using the boat. They are the most efficient way to avoid traffic. Boatdrivers go as daredevils in a Formula One. In fact, fare collectors wear crash helmets (!?).
Good night,
Mercedes
